Deep Time Walk Project

Deep Time Walk CIC is a community interest company that uses the power of deep time perspective to inspire climate and ecological action. Through our signature 4.6km walk - where each metre represents one million years of Earth's history - we help people connect with the profound story of our planet, fostering a deeper sense of belonging and responsibility towards the natural world. By making Earth's 4.6-billion-year journey visceral and accessible, we enable participants to see humanity's brief time on Earth in context, understand our impact, and feel empowered to act for a sustainable future.

We operate across Wales and beyond, training facilitators to deliver Deep Time Walks in their communities and workplaces. Our approach aligns perfectly with the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act's emphasis on long-term thinking and holistic wellbeing. We're committed to Climate Cymru's mission of achieving a net-zero, nature-positive Wales through climate justice, and we believe that reconnecting people with deep time is essential for building the cultural shift needed to embrace urgent climate action.
