Climate Cymru's working groups & organising spaces

Climate Cymru is a large network of organisations and individuals, who participate in our meetings and activities on a regular basis. the number of groups can seem daunting so take a look at the information below to understand Climate Cymru’s structure, where you fit in and your point of contact.

Climate Cymru Partners

The Climate Cymru network meets bimonthly online on the second Thursday of the month 12-1pm. Partners, businesses, ambassadors, and volunteers, are welcome to share updates, engage in campaigns, and hear from guest speakers. Important updates are sent through this mailing list, so make sure you’re on it. To apply to become a partner, complete this form or contact clare@climate.cymru for an informal, obligation-free chat. The group communicates via Zoom and email.

 

Climate Cymru Volunteers

Join the Climate Cymru team and other volunteers to develop new skills, connect with like-minded people, and be part of a community that is working towards a common goal. Find out more about volunteering, and if you think you’d like to give it a try, complete the volunteer application form and someone will get back to you. Volunteers meet on a Tuesday at 1pm on Zoom and communicate via a WhatsApp group and email. Contact vanessa@climate.cymru to arrange an informal, no obligation chat. 

 

Climate Cymru Ambassadors

Climate Cymru Ambassador programme is a means for individuals who are not affiliated with an organisation, to become part of the movement. In addition to accessing our network meetings and opportunities, ambassadors share our updates and social media posts to their own networks and respond to occasional specific requests. Ambassadors are able to participate in all aspects of Climate Cymru and are invited to volunteer meetings. For further information contact clare@climate.cymru

 

Advisory Group

The advisory group is a strategic decision making group which guides and oversees Climate Cymru’s work. Participants have the opportunity to shape future work, specialise in a certain area or be a general part of the group. We welcome new members. For an obligation free chat contact sam@climate.cymru. Youth Climate Ambassadors for Wales

The YCA is a democratic, youth-led initiative, which gives young people aged 13-25 years, based all over Wales,  a voice and opportunities to take climate action. Climate Cymru facilitates and supports the YCA. However, all key decisions are made by members, including a consultation group, which sits alongside the YCAs and is open to all young people in Wales..Email michaela@climate.cymru if you’d like to find out more. The group communicates via weekly online meetings, WhatsApp and email. 

 

Global Climate Justice Group

This group aims to accelerate action for global climate justice and to ensure that diverse perspectives and experiences are included in related discussions, policy development and campaigns. The group meets on the fourth Thursday of the month. Contact Michaela michaela@climate.cymru if you’d like more information. The group communicates via online meetings and email.

 

Climate Cymru Ethnic Minorities (CCEM)

The group is a platform for environmental professionals and individuals interested in environment/climate advocacy of ethnic minority origins living in Wales, who are interested in building their network in environment and climate advocacy around the climate crisis, climate justice and allied matters. The CCEM communicates via WhatsApp & google groups email.

The Policy Hub

The policy group stays up to date via WhatsApp and an email list. If you’ve already joined the movement and want to engage in climate and nature policy, politics and advocacy in Wales, contact sam@climate.cymru to find out more. 

 

The Communications Hub

If you’ve joined the movement and would like to stay up-to-date with the latest strategic communications work in Wales, promote your key moments, learn and collaborate, this is the group for you. It’s also the organising space for our new Imagine Action initiative. Contact communications@climate.cymru to be added to the WhatsApp group and email list.
