The Wales of Tomorrow, Climate Cymru: Our blueprint for a fairer Wales, shaped by our people.

Wales stands at a crossroads.

At a time when the cost of living crisis is pushing families deeper into poverty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But the climate and nature emergencies aren’t separate problems, they are deeply connected to the high bills, poor health, and insecurity we face every day.

Climate Cymru, a movement of thousands of people and 400 organisations, offers a clear vision: a clean and just transition that delivers for all.

This blueprint, co-created by our partner network, which has been published ahead of the 2026 Senedd elections, shows how climate action can be the foundation of a better Wales. We are demanding a future where:

• You pay less and save energy: Massive home retrofitting and local, affordable heat to eliminate fuel poverty (Theme 4).
• You gain secure jobs: New, skilled jobs created locally, ensuring a dignified transition for industrial communities (Theme 5).
• You get local control: Communities gain ownership and influence over energy, food, and land through community-led Citizens Assemblies on climate (Theme 2).
• Your family is healthier: Cleaner air and water guaranteed by linking health data to pollution and strengthening environmental protection (Theme 3).

The next Welsh Government must adopt these bold, people-centred policies to build a cleaner, fairer, and more prosperous nation.
