Press Release

Warm this Winter Wales Day of Action

For immediate release 28/11/2022

A national day of action has been called on 3 December, and will bring together campaigners to raise awareness and demand action to address the cost of living and energy crises. In Wales, Climate Cymru is inviting people to join their Day of Action at 12pm at the Senedd.

Climate Cymru is a network of over 400 organisations and 14,000 individuals from across Wales.  Campaigners as part of Warm this Winter Wales, will be launching a petition to the Welsh Government on the day, calling for emergency support for vulnerable households, an ambitious energy efficiency programme, upscaling of low-cost renewables, and an end to fossil fuels in Wales.

The cost of living, energy and climate crises have shared problems and shared solutions.

Campaigners on the day will be be wearing yellow as a symbol of warmth, and will be taking yellow scarves and props to create a web of people, unlocking the solutions to these crises at the middle of the web in the form of a padlocked petition, which will be laid at the door of the Senedd – as a symbol to show that Wales has the answers to tackle these concerns if we work together as a Nation.

There will be a selection of speakers highlighting the importance of the campaign, photo opportunities with our asks for the media on the day.
