About
Climate Cymru is a movement of thousands of individuals and a network of hundreds of organisations from all sectors in Wales, brought together by shared values and a recognition that the climate and nature emergencies require urgent, fair action. We believe that action should be guided by science and the voices of people across Wales.
Hosted by Cymru Global, Climate Cymru draws on Cymru Global’s experience of connecting people with global issues and turning concern into practical action. Cymru Global’s wider vision, that everyone in Wales can contribute to a fairer, more peaceful world, sits at the heart of how Climate Cymru operates.
Our Mission
As urgently as possible:
- Net zero Wales
- Nature positive Wales
- Climate justice both in Wales and internationally
- Welsh Society to embrace the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act.
The transition to achieving these goals should be just and equitable, and properly take into consideration the diversity of voices and needs of the people of Wales, and more broadly, the most vulnerable around the world.
Our Principles
Our movement spans interest groups from all backgrounds, sectors, and corners of Wales, but is brought together by our basic principles, which every individual, group, and partner organisation agrees to as they join:
We recognise that the climate and nature emergency requires urgent, fair action. We believe that action should be guided by science and the voices of people across Wales.
Organisations also agree to the 5 ways of working, and the 7 goals of the future generations act.

Our Impact
Since we formed in 2021, the Climate Cymru network has achieved a significant impact to put climate, nature and social justice on the political agenda in Wales. Some highlights include our successful Cymru Together movement, our powerful narrative change and storytelling projects, and our network of thousands of people across Wales to advocate for fair and urgent climate justice.
