Carbon Link
Since 2008 Carbon Link has been helping ordinary people and businesses in Wales (and further afield) take more responsibility for our climatic impact by supporting carbon draw down initiatives with a partner community called Boré in Coast Province, Kenya.
“Wales was the first country to undergo the Industrial Revolution so we have a longer legacy of releasing CO2 than any other country and therefore a particular commensurate responsibility to show leadership in taking action on climate. There are many ways of reducing current emissions and we should be employing all of those but there is only one proven way of drawing down past emissions and that is through tropical afforestation. We need to mobilise at scale to partner with the poor female farmers of sub-Saharan Africa to assist them to protect their remnant existing forest and replant new carbon-ravenous tropical trees.”
