Narberth Quakers

Quakers believe that climate change and biodiversity loss are not just technical problems to be fixed, but symptoms of a greater challenge which we, along with many others, are facing; how to live sustainably and justly on this Earth.

“Our environmental and sustainability policy centres on how Quakers live as a faith community, encompassing many others. Our commitment to become a Low Carbon Community was made in 2011 at Britain Yearly Meeting. It draws on all our testimonies – peace, truth, simplicity, equality and care for the environment. This is an emergency and we need to act now, as communities and networks with others, with open eyes, imagination and creativity. We need to be brave. Or this opportunity to secure a future for our life with other species who inhabit this beautiful earth will be lost to future generations. We support each other and the communities within which we live to act personally and politically to restore the essential carbon balance of this planet.”
