“Working partnership with Lesotho, the tiny 'Mountain Kingdom' in Southern Africa has brought in focus the disproportionate effects of climate change on poorer populations. For a country which contributes relatively little to global carbon emissions, the effects are massive. Increasingly severe rains and intense droughts erode the soil, washing away between 3% and 5% of the topsoil every year. This affects the quality of crops and livestock produced. We have to show how the actions of richer countries affect the lives of those who have little control of the devastating effects of climate change. ”
