They campaign for global justice, so that every woman, man and child can live a full and dignified life.
“The coronavirus pandemic has devastated lives and shattered families in Wales, the wider UK and across the world - with many of the injustices in the way we've been running our economies and societies making the effects of the crisis even worse for the most vulnerable. As governments plan for how to rebuild from the pandemic, Pope Francis has urged us to ensure that we don't simply return to the 'old normal', but instead build a better normal, which tackles those injustices, including the great injustice of our time: the climate crisis. That means Boris Johnson has a crucial role in 2021 as the UK hosts the G7 and COP26 to make sure that plans to build back better help everyone to build back, not just the richest. We can't do that without tackling the climate emergency. CAFOD’s priorities are lobbying for: An end to all UK support to fossil fuel overseas that covers both direct and indirect investments. Ensure COP26 delivers an increased global ambition that puts the world on track for 1.5°C. Cancellation of all debts owed by low-income countries to include bilateral, multilateral and private creditors.”
