“Across Wales, we work to deliver environmental projects to restore and enhance our rivers and campaign to protect our rivers from pollution. Climate change is a direct impact on the water ecosystem, in terms of its impact to rainfall, sunshine and temperatures. But indirectly, it will also bring significant change to how water is used, required, treated. It impacts the water quality of the ecosystem, the species within the riverine habitat and all other linked ecosystems. We support the Welsh government in their call for climate action. We wish to see better science and research into the impacts of climate change. We also wish to see climate change being considered throughout Wales at policy and planning levels. Funding from Welsh Government to support the impact of climate change through nature-based solutions is the key here and one which the rivers trusts are directly involved in. We can begin to curb the impact by taking action now, considering the natural capital around us, delivering projects in a more sustainable way. ”
