Academi Heddwch Cymru

Academi Heddwch’s aim is to extend Wales’ strong tradition of peace-making and peace-promotion, by developing and coordinating an independent community of researchers in related fields. Academi Heddwch Cymru will work to place peace firmly on Wales’ national agenda, and on the international stage working through the existing global network of peace institutes.

“Millions of people are already displaced by conflict and persecution. The climate and nature emergencies will lead to millions more being forced to leave their homes and the places they love. Resource shortages will increase conflict and forced migration with most suffering caused to those who have contributed least to the causes of climate change. Academi Heddwch (The Peace Academy of Wales) calls on global leaders to take urgent action on the nature and climate emergencies and to make strong commitments for improvement at COP26.”
