Great Big Green Week 2022
Supported by Climate Cymru, with over 250 network partners, The Great Big Green Week 2022 aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage action towards a more sustainable future.

Each year, the goal is to mobilize communities across the UK to organize events and activities that celebrate nature and inspire positive change. Some of the events that took place during the week included:
- Beach cleanups
- Tree planting
- Plastic free picnics
- Sustainable fashion shows
- Upcycling events
- Community markets
The week also featured talks and workshops on topics such as renewable energy, biodiversity, and waste reduction.
Overall, the Great Big Green Week 2022 was a success, with over 1,000 events taking place and an estimated 1 million people participating across the UK. The event helped raise awareness about the urgent need for environmental action and inspired many individuals and organizations to make positive changes in their daily lives.
Climate Cymru supported the campaign with hundreds of events around Wales.

Some of they key successes from the week
Over 268,000 people across Wales took part in activities during the week, many of whom had not taken in part in climate driven, community activities before:
- 43% of participants had not previously attended a climate event.
- 24% of participants said they were, “not the type of person who normally takes climate action”.
- 84% learnt new things they can do to protect nature and act on climate change.
- More than 40 million people were reached on social media
