Hockey Wales
Hockey Wales is the National Governing Body for hockey in Wales, striving to deliver all aspects of hockey in diverse locations from schools and clubs to colleges and universities.
The Welsh Hockey Association was founded in 1896 and the Welsh Women’s Hockey Association in 1897 - the two Associations merged in 1996 to become Welsh Hockey Union and on 8 September 2003 was registered as a company, limited by guarantee, at Companies House (04891518) as The Welsh Hockey Union Limited. In 2011, our trading name was changed to Hockey Wales.
Members comprise of registered Clubs, Schools and National Associations.
Hockey Wales is a member of International Hockey Federation (FIH), European Hockey Federation (EHF) and Great Britain.
Why do you care about the climate?
We value and care about our future generations, and want to ensure we are a sustainable organisation working towards reducing our carbon footprint to ensure there is a future for our young people.
What action do you want to see from our leaders?
A commitment that is achievable by supporting organisations to contribute and be part of the change.. through analysis of organisations current position, education, behaviour change support and support of climate changers to make these simple changes that will lead to big outcomes. I believe that if people/organisation are guided and supported they will make changes quicker and more effectively.
What gives you hope for the future?
The simple small steps that we can all take.
